Tornado Shelters

Triana Storm Shelter The Triana Storm Shelter is located a 280 Zierdt road and has a capacity of 240. The Storm Shelter is operated by the Town of Triana and opens in the event of Tornado Watches and Warnings. The shelter is equipped with restrooms, water, and backup power.

  • No pets are allowed, however legitimate service animals trained to perform a task in support of a disability are permitted, but must be pre-registered with the Shelter Manger. Please note that registration may take up to 48 hours to process. 
  • No smoking in or around the facility.
  • No weapons permitted.
  • No bulky items, strollers, folding chairs or luggage. 

Shelter Procedures:

  • Please park at the rear of the parking lot and fill in the next available parking space. This will allow for the parking lot to be filled up quickly and efficiently and reserve space near the shelter for our Handicapped Patrons. 
  • If you have a Handicapped Placard or Plate, please park in front of the building in one of the Handicapped spots.
  • Proceed inside and sign in at the table in the center of the room.
  • Please reserve or offer bench seating to Seniors, Parents with Small Children, or Expectant Mothers.
  • Please use headphones for your mobile devices.
  • Earplugs are available at the desk in case of Siren Activation.
